Midwest Life is the solo project of Jonathan Cairnes; based out of Toledo, Ohio. Jonathan began to record his new album, “Ten Songs; Ten Years Later”, over the course of a weekend after he was laid off from work due to the coronavirus pandemic. His music mixes folk, punk, indie rock and emo music into a perfect blend of lo-fi acoustic guitar and catchy vocals.

Within the first few seconds of midwest mountain goat I fell in love with the style and vibe of the song. It’s a very laid back tune with a simple nature. However, it comes across itself as much more than a singer-songwriter tune. It’s a special blend of Jonathan’s favorite music that has been transformed into his own. If you ever wake up in the morning and want a nice acoustic indie pop song to go along with your cup of coffee then midwest mountain goat is definitely for you!
